A few additional projects worth honourable mention.
Naming an ad agency
Back in 2013 I worked in an agency called Cybercom. It wasn’t the best name for an agency on the leading edge of the tech scene. An agency-wide brief was thrown down, we were to rebrand, starting with a new name. My thought process was that Cybercom aged very badly, so the name needed to be timeless. I thought that if the agency was named after something that has been around for a long time — something in the natural world maybe — it would never age. So I started thinking about animals and which ones might suit a pack of hard working people that we were.
Of course Huskies fit this idea perfeclty. I think there were about 100 names put on the table initially in the initial round. We were asked to rationalise the names we were pitching and the above rational won out in the end.
We landed on ‘In the Company of Huskies’. It was bold, it was unusual and it stood out, plus we could use a lot of dog-related puns. I won the competition and asked for a Funked up Fixie as a prize which I designed. I can’t take credit for the visuals as we used a branding agency, though I had some input along with CD David Howlett. Unfortunately for my legacy, the company was recently aquired and rebranded again by Forsman & Bodenfors, but it’s a confirmation that Huskies was and still is an amazing ageny who did great work and had by far the best culture of anywhere I’ve ever worked.

Tús - Launch ads
Tús was a new Irish brand with a focus on sustainable living. They had never done any advertising before so the brief was simply to make print some ads that would stand out, showcase a their products and communicate their mission.
I was happy to put together a simple look and create these ads from ideation and copy to art direction and design.
Housing Crisis.
Vidmob is a data-driven video production company I work with. They approached me with a project to raise awareness about the housing crisis in Ireland. They asked me to write a script, storyboard and do creative direction for a video based on their data abut homelessness. There is no branding because this was intended as a piece of content that would be shareable by multiple brands and people.
Dublin is Sound
Working at an agency a few years back we wanted to create posters for our clients to raise awareness for Record Store Day.
When thinking about the brief I saw the photo of Dublin below and thought the poolbeg wall looked a lot like a record tone arm and needle. I create the sketch also below and we pitched the idea to Nialler9 and got Donough O'Malley to Illustrate it.
It turned out to be a very popular idea in the end and Donough was able to sell out of prints on his online shop https://pencilrobot.bigcartel.com.

Covidiot
This was an idea that didn't make the final cut at Paddy Power for the 2020 US election. It was an execution for a larger campaign but as a stand alone piece, I liked it enough that I decided to put it out there as a piece of personal content.
At the time Trump's disasterous strategy to deal with Covid (ignore it and go golfing) was big news.
